People may not realize that our daily dental care would become much easier if we reduced the amount of sugar we are consuming each day.
The sugars in soft drinks interact with bacteria in your mouth to form acid, which attacks your teeth. Add that to the acids normally contained in regular and sugar-free sodas, and you’re starting a damaging reaction that lasts for about 20 minutes. If you sip all day, your teeth are under constant attack.
According to the American Dental Association, sugar should make up no more than 10% of your daily calories. For women, that is 10-15 teaspoons. per day. For men, it’s 12.5-18.75 teaspoons.
