Some advice about cavity prevention

Despite our very best efforts in brushing and flossing, there can still be plaque buildup on our teeth. Preventing oral diseases and cavities starts with our teeth cleaning routine at home. It should include time to brush and floss and a healthy diet with less sugar. (especially as you approach bedtime). Once we have the home routine in a good place we also need to make sure we regularly schedule time with our dentist to make sure our routine is working. Dentists have special equipment and tools to discover where our teeth might need a little more TLC in our dental routine.

So, let’s review…

Good dental health for cavity prevention includes:

1. Good brushing
2. Good flossing
3. Healthy diet
4. Regular visits to the dentist (for cleaning, exams, x-rays, sealants, and fluoride treatments)
5. Adjustment to our dental routine based on advice from our dental professionals
