I’ll Be There For You!
(sung in the “FRIENDS” theme song)
Really. We are here. Come see us as soon as possible.
Until you get into our office, these tips will help you reduce the pain in the meanwhile.
1. The first step in getting relief from your toothache is to reduce inflammation, and there are two accepted ways of doing this:
—Hold a cold ice-pack or a bag of frozen vegetables against the side of your face where the pain is, with a cloth between your facial skin and the pack for protection.
—Take over the counter anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen, naproxen or other common NSAIDs.
2. Apply Heat Therapy: After the cold pack, you can apply heat therapy in the form of a heat pack such as a warm, wet cloth or a moist heating pad.
