What’s The Difference Between Plaque And TarTar?

“What’s the difference between
plaque and tartar?”

Plaque is the Precursor to Tartar

PLAQUE: is that soft, sticky film that builds up on your teeth and under your gums. It is a growing colony of living bacteria, food debris, and saliva
that inflame the gums.
This inflammation is the start of periodontal disease!

Tartar (Calculus): is hardened plaque that has been left on the tooth and has become firmly attached to the tooth’s surface. Calculus forms above and below the gum line and can only be removed with special dental instruments.
